No More Blank Notification Mails!

Blogging, Wordpress

Since I upgraded to Wordpress 2.2 I’ve received blank notification mails everytime someone posted a comment. It has driven me…well almost crazy, but finally I found out what was wrong. My Wordpress Backup-plugin caused the problem. I am not sure why, but I’ve updated the plugin and now everything is running smoothly again. My sincere apologies for sending out blank notification emails to my comment subscribers. It is all good again!

  • Hi there, I'm having the same problem. What changed did you make to get this resolved?

    Thanks,

Hi Aron. As I mention in the post it is the Backup-plugin that caused the error. You should recheck all your plugins and make sure they are up to date. If that still doesn't work, then you have to deactivate your plugins one at a time and see if that helps. Of course the backup plugin was the last one I deactivated in the troubleshooting process ;)

I understand this. I've isolated my problem also be caused from the WordPress Database Backup plugin at http://www.ilfilosofo.com/blog/wp-db-backup .

I'm asking what you updated in this backup plugin to fix your problem? Can you post your changes so others with this problem can resolve it and get their's running? I've searched google extensively and haven't found a fix yet. I'm not really ready to dive into php code myself to resolve it if i don't have to.

    Much appreciated. Thx Aaron

I'm afraid I didn't do anything else, but upgrade the old version to 2.1.1 and that was it.

I'm no php-wiz either, so I didn't even try to look at the plugin in.
