What's On Your Computer

It’s time for another round of Show Me Your Desktop. If you missed Amber Mac’s interview it’s still around.

This week it’s Larissa Meek’s turn to show us her desktop. Fans of the Miss Teen USA or Miss USA pageant know her, fans of the reality TV show “Average Joe: Hawaii” know her and fans of art and interactive design know Larissa.

Larissa is a senior art director at AgencyNet. If you’ve never visited AgencyNet.com, you really missed a great website. They really put the “i” in interactive and they are hiring, if you are interested.

I can also highly recommend you visit Larissa’s personal blog. The design of her blog is just as beautiful and easy on the eyes as her artworks.

The attentive reader will also notice that Larissa is a PC-user. You don’t run across these every day.

What is your background picture?

It was created by Josh Corliss of AgencyNet for the FWA. It’s a fun little Valentine’s Day theme.

Why did you chose that picture?
I chose it because I prefer a clean desktop background so that my desktop doesn’t feel cluttered and because Valentine’s Day is around the corner. I love the use of light and color.

If you have a personal and a work computer, which program do you use the most on your personal computer?
On my personal computer I most use Outlook more than anything else. I split the rest of my time between PhotoShop and Dreamweaver.

Which program do you use the most on your work computer?

Lately, I seem to be spending most of my time creating layouts in PhotoShop.
Internet Explorer or Firefox?
Firefox.

Why do you use Firefox?
Firebug makes FF a must and it supports CSS better than IE.

What is your favourite program?
Adobe PhotoShop. It is incredibly powerful and allows me to create everything from simplistic wireframes to complex digital artwork.

Which program is the worst?

I get most frustrated with MS Word, writing lengthy documents is not always fun.

Do you have any tips and tricks on how to get the most out of your computer or blog?
Find inspiration everywhere. Never stop learning because technology is always changing.
Mac or Pc and why?
PC because I have a background in 3D animation. Back then 3D software wasn’t supported on Macs so I’ve just stuck with PC’s since then. I’m considering switching to a Mac.
Thank you very much for taking the time Larissa. It’s an honour to have such a talented artist and designer on The Beta News.
