The Beta News Gets A New Look

As you’ve probably noticed, The Beta News has recieved a new look. I wasn’t quite sure that the old theme encouraged people to comment on my posts, and after all, commenting and discussing is what blogging is all about.

So I’ve bought this lovely WordPress theme from WooThemes called FreshNews.

Until now I’m more than happy with it.

But a few things are still missing.

A new and updated logo. If you can design one, please let me know. Plenty of link love
Images in posts. I’m still working on that one too. The theme lets me put a thumbnail image in every post. It resizes it and everything.
FreshNews supports various ad formats. I’m just not sure if I should put any ads on The Beta News. What do you think?
I’ve got plenty of space in the sidebar, but what do you prefer to have in your sidebar?

What do you think of the new look? Is it a keeper? Should I change anything?

The Beta News 2 Year Anniversary – Contest Coming Up

I almost completely forgot it, but this week it’s exactly two years ago I wrote my first blog post ever. It started out with www.petersen-inc.dk, which was supposed to be a family site with my resume and some private photos, but after a couple of years, I read about WordPress and blogging, so I thought I’d try that.

Then last summer I moved to another domain – www.thebetanews.com.

I’ve learned a lot in the last couple of years, met a lot of great people and tried different WordPress themes and plugins.

To celebrate this, I’ll have my first contest/prize giveaway, but more about this later. Hopefully the concept of the contest will be unlike anything you’ve ever seen before

I’m looking for prize sponsors, so if you are interested please let me know. I’ll submit the contest to the about 20 contest blogs I know and give you as much link love as possible.
