I recently discovered the video player formerly known as “Democracy Player”, now known as “Miro“.

Miro allows you to subscribe to 3600+ video channels, import your own videos or add the feed from your favourite videocast. This could be YouTube, Ustream, Justin.tv, PopSnap or any other site.

This is the videocast alternative to Google Reader, Bloglines, Newsvine or similar feed reader.

Miro comes with a bunch of standard bookmarks ranging from sports and tech to food and entertainment. You can see webcasts from BoingBoing, TED, Webb Alert, old cartoons or Sesame Street.

The video is downloaded to your computer and unless you choose to keep it, the video is deleted within a number of days.

Miro runs in the background and automatically updates your selected channels. It comes in a lot of different languages and is very easy to use. If you have trouble using it, you can always subscribe to the Miro User Guide channel.
