What's On Your Computer

portrait.jpgLast week I interviewed Leo Babauta from zen habits. This week it’s Yaro Starak from Entrepreneur’s Journey turn. Yaro runs several successful blogs, including the Blog Mastermind Program, which teaches you how to run a successful blog and the Blog Profits Blueprint, an ebook that explains how to earn $5000+ each month.

1. What is your background picture?

I’ve had different backgrounds in the past but now I just
use good old fashioned standard blue. I like simplicity.

2. Why did you chose that picture?

Because I run three monitors and the blue background is the
only functional background I can have.

3. If you have a personal and a work computer, which program do you use the most on your personal computer?

I have a laptop which I use at cafes to type articles and a desktop at home with three monitors. The most commonly used
program on my laptop is probably keynote – tabbed text file program that I use to type blog articles and other notes into.

4. Which program do you use the most on your work computer?

On a daily basis I use mailwasher for email filtering, thuderbird for email reading and firefox for web use, they are the most common programs I use.

5. Internet Explorer or Firefox?

I use Firefox but also IE occasionally too.

6. Why do you use IE or FF?

FF is more stable and loads quicker. I use IE just for
testing purposes.

7. What is your favourite program?

Hmm, probably my blog software WordPress, even though it isn’t a program, it lets me run my blog which is the best thing I do on a computer.

8. Which program is the worst?

I don’t use any “worst” programs, that would be silly!

9. Do you have any tips and tricks on how to get the most out of your computer or blog?

One of the best tools I use is the “clippings” extension for Firefox and Thunderbird. It lets me create template responses for email and helpdesk queries, which really speeds up my replies.

Thank you very much for the help Yaro. Next week I’ll ask Randa Clay from RandaClayDesign.com “Show Me Your Desktop, Randa Clay”.

  • Dennis, I love this feature. It's so cool. Do you ever have people unwilling to participate?
  • Thank you very much Emma :-)

Unfortunately I do. I'm still waiting on answer from a several pro-bloggers, one didn't have time and one didn't see the point in the interview.

But I'll keep working on it ;)
  • Well don't get discouraged. Maybe in time they'll come around.
  • Oh yeah. I'm really thankful for the ones I've already got.
  • I've been following this feature since the beginning and find it really interesting to both see other bloggers' desktops and also picking up some hints on new programs that might be worth using!

    Cheers!
  • Thank you very much, Zath. I'm having a great time read the answers I get back.

    I'm glad you like them.
  • Someone actually said no? Strange. Love the concept. In fact, I'm addicted to reading the interviews haha.
