It’s Sunday and that means interview time. If you missed last week’s interview with Yaro Starak from Entrepreneur’s Journey, then I recommend you go ahead and read that one first.
This week it’s Randa Clay from Randa Clay Design’s turn. If you don’t know who she is, this little logo might give you an indication: ![]()
Yes, she is the creator of the I Follow-logo and it was actually that way I found her the first time. She has also created several Wordpress Themes, including the very popular Bluebird Theme.
1. What is your background picture?
- a closeup picture of a ladybug on the stem of a flower.
2. Why did you chose that picture?
- it was one of the free stock images from IStockPhoto, and I just thought it was beautiful. Plus, I just got a new 22″ flat screen monitor and I wanted a stunning picture to make the most of it!
3. If you have a personal and a work computer, which program do you use the most on your personal computer?
- I have two computers, both of which are personal as well as work. For personal use, my main program is Photoshop CS3 for editing personal photographs.
4. Which program do you use the most on your work computer?
- For work, my most commonly used program is probably Illustrator, with Photoshop being a close second.
5. Internet Explorer or Firefox?
- Firefox
6. Why do you use Firefox?
- I like FF better because of all the plugins available. I can see my Adsense stats and see how many e-mails I have waiting, for example. I also use Firebug, FireFTP, as well as the Search Status bar.
7. What is your favourite program?
- Hmmm, that’s a hard one. I guess it would have to be Illustrator.
8. Which program is the worst?
- My husband installed WeatherBug on our PC and I HATE the way that little program keeps dinging at me to tell me it might be raining.
9. Do you have any tips and tricks on how to get the most out of your computer or blog?
- Use Firefox and WordPress. Firefox allows you to do most functions without ever opening another program and WordPress is the best content management system out there.
Bonus Question: You are using a PC, isn’t that a little unusual for a designer? How come you don’t use a Mac?
- Lots of designers use PCs – I’ve just always had a PC and it’s what I know. I don’t have the money to invest in a Mac either. I know they’re great, but it will be a while before I could justify that cost. Something else is always a higher priority. Kids are expensive!
Next week I’ll ask David Airey from davidairey.com “Show Me Your Desktop, David Airey”.
