I’m starting a new article series named:” Show Me Your Desktop, *Famous Bloggername*”.
Once a week I will interview a blogger about what is on his or her desktop, which program is his favourite, which browser she uses and they will share some good blogging or computer advice. Finally you can see what their desktop looks like.
The first one is Everton Blair from Connected Internet. I’m co-writing on his site and he covers a lot of topics.
1. What is your background picture?
At the moment it’s of a very sexy Porsche Cayman, but it rotates every 15 mins thanks to a great wallpaper app I found. Most of the pics in my selection are of beautiful cars
2. Why did you chose that picture?
I love Caymans and I’m getting a Cayman S in a few months and I can’t wait.
3. If you have a personal and a work computer, which program do you use the most on your personal computer?
On my personal computer Firefox because of the blogging and the surfing, although I now have a HTPC that runs just Vista MCE for my films, music, tv etc
4. Which program do you use the most on your work computer?
Outlook – I couldn’t function without it. After that Excel as I have to work on a lot of business cases.
5. Internet Explorer or Firefox? (If you don’t use any of those, please explain why and which)
Firefox.
6. Why do you use Firefox?
Firefox because of the tabs which work better than IE, or maybe they do for me because I’m used to it. Also, because of the Google Browser Sync extension which because I spend a lot of time online on 4 different PCs is a lifesaver.
7. What is your favourite program? Why?
Tough question to answer. I think my favourite program now is mp3tag. I have a very big music collection (over 19k tracks) and without this program I wouldn’t be able to keep it all organised. Newsleecher is another favourite as it makes Usenet very usable.
8. Which program is the worst? Why?
Norton Security. You wouldn’t believe the amount of stuff that got past it’s filters on my machine. It is also very bloated and causes a lot of probelms with online gaming.
9. Do you have any tips and tricks on how to get the most out of your computer or blog?
Only install programs and plugins you really need. As you can see from my desktop I don’t use a lot of programs on my PC, and I avoid dodgy free programs. Always do backups, particularly before you try something you have no experience of.

Next week, I’ll ask Wendy Piersall from eMomsathome.com to “Show Me Your Desktop, Wendy Piersall”.
