Great Tips! Very objective and professional review. I've been using Amazon's Kindle e-book reader for about a week now, I am very happy with my Kindle and look forward to many happy hours of reading. I love it so much. Thank you

Nicholas:

Thank you for the corrections. I've updated the post. ;)

Like you I have mixed feelings when it comes to paying for feeds. Alternatively I could read my feeds on my cell phone or PDA.

It would also be nice if the service was available world wide.

- It takes around 10 seconds to download a book, not 10 minutes.

- As someone else mentioned, while it doesn't read PDF's natively, you can use multiple free tools to convert PDFs to a format it will read, and if you email the PDF to Amazon they will either email it back for free, or load it directly onto your Kindle for 10 cents.

- Color would be nice, but there's no color e-ink screen out yet as far as I know. Last I heard it's still under development with the first prototypes out.

- I agree - it'd be nice if there was an option to buy both the physical copy and e-book, or to "upgrade" a physical copy to combo or an e-book to combo.

- I've got mixed feelings about paying for blogs. I think paying for random blogs is silly, but for instance, I *do* pay for the NY Times "Latest Stories" feed - it's formatted nicely on the Kindle and lets me read the headlines and see the photos without being connected, meaning I can read it on the subway, without paying for the full cost of the paper.

- I don't know what the big deal is about the design, a lot of people complain about it - but it works pretty well, and when it's inside its case, it looks almost like a moleskine notebook, which I actually find very attractive.

Thank you very much for the correction abhi!

I've updated the post accordingly. I still think it's a shame that you have to pay $2 per feed. I know it's a service offered through Amazon, but for the price of $399 I would expect some level of free service.

That's a great site you have with a lot of useful Kindle information.

How did you find this post so fast?

also, you can read blogs on the experimental browser for free. and for PDF documents you can either email them to Amazon support and get them back at your email for free (or $.10 get them on your kindle).
Or you can do PDF to mobipocket format conversion using MobiPocket Creator (free version works).

the subscription price for blogs is 1.99$ a month, and not $15.
