What’s Going On Before iForum Kick-off
October 21, 2007
I’m in Las Vegas at the moment attending the Citrix iForum. I’ve been fortunate enough to be selected as an official Citrix Community Blogger. I’ll post the articles here every day. Let me know what you think.
After about 24 hours of traveling we finally landed Friday night. The usual flight delays and hotel reservation mixups extended the trip. After a few hours of sleep, I couldn’t sleep much more, so I was hoping THE hotel’s info channel could help me sleep. It couldn’t, but I saw something interesting. Three of the convention rooms were already occupied by Citrix, one of them is the press center. I decided to go and check out the convention area. The place is huge. Walking around in the convention area I felt like a child. Everything was big, the mirrors on the wall, the pot with the plants, the trash cans, the chair and about 6 meters (20 ft) to the ceiling. Unfortunately the press center wasn’t opened yet and I didn’t want to interrupt the official Citrix lunch.

I’m Now Officially An eDad!
October 8, 2007
Yes finally. The night between Saturday and Sunday at 3.18 am exactly my wife gave birth to our first child, a boy!
Everything went relatively smoothly and we are all doing very well, though a few hours of sleep would be nice
Our son is 54 cm tall and weighs 3,590 grams (about 8 lbs.)
So my dear readers expect very few posts the next couple of days. However in about two weeks I will be blogging from the Citrix iForum in Las Vegas, so if anyone of you are in that area from October 19-25 I would love to meet you.

10 Things To Learn From The World’s Best PowerPoint Presentations
October 4, 2007
Several months ago SlideShare launched a presentation contest. The goal was to find the World’s Best Presentation. The presentations were judged by top presentation gurus and the viewers (us, you and me).
The judges and top presentation gurus were Guy Kawasaki, Bert Decker, Garr Reynolds and Jerry Weissman.
Now I’ve created my share of presentations and I’ve been really proud of most of them… but these WAUW! Looking through the contributions you will quickly notice that they have a lot in common.
I recently created a slide show inspired by these presentations and the feedback was very positive. The audience told me they felt “provoked” to listen to me talk, instead of reading page after page of bullets.

The Paperless Book - A Guide To eBooks And Audiobooks
October 2, 2007
Here’s an idea: You’ve probably already using your iPod or Mp3-player (from now on I’ll call it iPod, even though I use a
Creative Zen Vision:M, its shorter!) on the train or plane, in the car or on your bike, but why not let Stephen King read his latest book for you? Or perhaps you prefer Alan Greenspan and Bill Clinton or Sara Gruen and Julia Sweeney? This is already possible and you don’t even need an iPod for it.
You can sit at home and listen to the audiobooks in the couch in front of your Dali speakers. Audiobooks aren’t a new invention. I used to listen to Tintin (Belgian detective comic by Hergé) on cassette tapes. Usually read by the author himself or by another with a great recording voice. Of course, the tapes were in Danish in my case, since I borrowed it from the children’s department at my local library. Because of the internet and digital mp3 music it is only natural that audiobooks are converted into media files, like mp3 and ebooks. Read more
