Summer Time is Rerun Time

June 21, 2007

It’s summer and ’tis the time of reruns. The newspapers do it, television do it, blogs do it, everybody do it.

While I’m busy setting up my new site (www.thebetanews.com) and the secret site (the game related one), I’ll publish some of my best (in my opinion) posts.

If everything go as planned, I’ll have the new site ready first in July. The rerun posts are all from before I got some “real” traffic.

Petersen Inc is Moving to Another Domain

June 20, 2007

I’ve decided to more www.petersen-inc.dk to another domain, well more specifically, I’m petersen-inc.dk is going back to the original intent/content.

Fear not my trusty readers - the great content of this site will be moved to the new domain - www.thebetanews.com. The new and improved site will feature more beta and start-up news. I will work on getting more invitations for those hungering to test beta Web 2.0 start-up applications.

I will kick start the new site with a very interesting new concept know as “What’s on your Desktop, *Blogger name*”. Everton Blair from www.connectedinternet.co.uk will be the first one. Great bloggers such as Wendy Piersall, David Airey and Arpit Jacob will follow.

The news doesn’t stop here. I’m secretly working on another project too. A blog featuring the latest news about a certain soccer/football game that will launch later this year. Stay tuned for more juicy details!

Microsoft IPTV Get Updated to Microsoft Mediaroom

June 18, 2007

mediaroom Microsoft IPTV Get Updated to Microsoft Mediaroom

Microsoft has announced an update and a new name for Microsoft IPTV - Microsoft Mediaroom.

The existing features such as video on demand, high-definition television and instant channel zapping (I like that) will be further enhanced by:

  • Personal media sharing. This enables consumers to easily listen to digital music and view digital photographs stored on PCs elsewhere in the home on the best screen in the house: the television.
  • Multimedia Application Environment. The environment offers richer support for Web services and applications, enabling service providers to deploy advanced features such as dynamic video-on-demand portals, casual games and interactive TV services.
  • Enhanced MultiView capabilities. These allow consumers to see multiple channels, programs and camera angles on one screen.

Johnny Depp and the Japanese Pirates

June 15, 2007

Did you see Pirates of the Caribbean 3? I just love those movies.

I found this clip on YouTube and I think it is taken from the POTC3 promotion tour to Japan. It’s simply hilarious. I think Johnny Depp has been on acid trips that are less random than this.

I’m not sure what they’ve given these kids, but it shows the insanity of Japanese television.

The Mystery of the 3 Faces on Vista DVD is Solved

June 15, 2007

dscn5166ampli-710567.jpgDid you also wonder who the three guys on the Vista DVD is? Well the mystery is solved!

Unfortunately there isn’t anything exotic about it. There is no conspiracy theory, disgruntled employees or hackers. The explanation very simple. Microsoft’s Anti-Piracy Team designed a counterfeit-resistant digital “watermark” for the non-encoded surface of Windows Vista DVDs. That’s it! Booooring.

According to Nick White, Product Manager for the Vista launch team: “The photo in question is only one of multiple images contained in the hologram design, all of whose inclusion serves to make it more difficult to replicate a Windows Vista DVD. The other images are of old master works of art that are in the public domain.”
