Pearls before Swine by Stephen Pastis is the best comic since Calvin & Hobbes.
The comic became extremely popular after Scott Adams (Creator of Dilbert) praised it in his blog here. Scott Adams gives you the recipe or a formula on how to make a funny comic.
Basically Pearls before Swine are about Pig, Rat, Zebra, Goat, Crocs, humans and a few other characters.
Rat is the mean selfish toon, Pig is the good-hearted and naive one, Goat is the wise one and the Crocs are the really stupid ones.
